admin adminCarlos Humberto Acevedo PeñalozaLisandro Vargas Henriquez

The First Iron Oxide Workshop investigates the diverse range of iron oxide particles produced from water reactions under varying redox and pH conditions. These particles include magnetite, maghemite, goethite, hematite, and akaganeite, and have applications in academia, water treatment, electronics, new energy production, cosmetics, medicine, and the paint industry. Iron oxide particles are highly adaptable due to their minute scale, typically under 100 nm, and high reactivity due to their large surface area. In biomedicine, these particles have shown extraordinary potential in various applications, including magnetic hyperthermia, contrast agents for MRI imaging, precise drug delivery systems, and gene therapy. Moreover, iron oxides possess intrinsic attributes that make them highly desirable for water treatment applications, such as costeffectiveness, redox adaptability, magnetic properties, and efficient adsorption.
admin adminCarolina Guida

The book "Political participation and citizenship of women in Colombia: Barranquilla from the local", aims to reconstruct the conquest of the rights of Colombian and Barranquilla women, who were part of historical events, from different dynamics of the city, to show embryonic developments of organizational forms, which led to activism, protests and deliberations, in the fight to conquer the right to vote. Likewise, the strategies used in political advocacy are pointed out, reflected throughout the historical period studied, which are reaffirmed in different social spaces conquered by Colombian and Barranquilla women, who also manifested themselves in complaints and mobilizing calls, demanding the right to citizenship, among other rights. This mosaic was part of the struggles of the Colombian suffrage movement, which left traces in the history of women's political intervention in the country.
admin admin

admin adminRaschid Alberto Palacios LópezÁngel Armando Reales PachecoHugo Alexander González RomeroCristian Antonio Pedraza Yepes

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/212

admin adminGuillermo Valencia OchoaJorge Duarte Forero

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/217

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/219

The objective of the study was to evaluate the management of intellectual capital from the perspective of transformational leadership in nutrition and dietetics programs in universities, considering the attention to the total functioning of universities to develop mechanisms that encourage participation, as well as communication through intervention. successful leadership with ideal skills to generate commitment in workers. The study is based on theoretical criteria of Arrieta, Gaviria and Consuegra (2017), Axtle and Acosta (2017), Pérez, Jiménez and Romo (2017), Flores, Paniagua, Doria, Moreno, Montejano and Martínez (2016), Núñez and Rodríguez (2015), Benavides (2014), Chiavenato (2010), among others. The positivist paradigm is assumed, with a quantitative approach, the type of research is evaluative, the design is non-experimental, transectional and field. The population is made up of 55 subjects: 17 managers and 38 university teachers in Barranquilla – department of Atlántico, Colombia. As an instrument, a questionnaire aimed at managers and teachers with 69 items was applied: validity was obtained by consulting the opinion of 5 experts; reliability through Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. Inferential statistics were applied to analyze the data. It was concluded that both managers and teachers notice weaknesses in the components of intellectual capital, in the management of mission axes of higher education, in the qualities of the transformational leader and in the factors of transformational leadership. It is recommended to promote the implementation of the proposed model with the purpose of strengthening management in management and teaching staff through work articulated with the lines of action based on transformational leadership.
Esperanza Florez FernandezJorge Luis Restrepo Pimienta

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/192

Colombia's agrarian history is characterized by the problem of access to land, a situation that has generated social discontent at different times since monarchic times. In the 1960s, the scenario was more acute, as a small group of families, large landowners and businessmen concentrated the land and exploited it through agricultural and livestock activities. However, vast extensions of land were left unused, land that peasants needed to develop their economic activities. In this sense, this work analyzes how this socioeconomic problem, which spread throughout the Caribbean region with different nuances, affected the peasant economy, generating social conflicts in the region. In addition to other rural problems such as water shortages, low coverage of public and school services, lack of public and private investment, among other chaotic situations, which demanded the intervention of the State. To solve these problems, the Colombian government implemented a series of rural projects in the different departments of the Caribbean within the framework of the Agrarian Reform (1961) in order to stimulate the development of the countryside and link it to the world economy.

The five chapters that are part of this research book show that the results of the Agrarian Reform in the Colombian Caribbean were partial, since the problems that were intended to be solved definitively, such as land concentration, the low coverage of public and school services, the construction of roads to connect rural areas with the market, and their technification, among other aspects, were not completely solved because the projects were implemented in a few towns, leaving many others on the margins. Currently, these problems have not disappeared and countless peasants continue to demand land and better living conditions.

Tomás Caballero TruyolJesús Ángel Castro FontalvoEva Sandrin García CharrisChristian Maldonado BadránMelvys López SolorzanoEdwin Corena PuentesMuriel Jiménez OrtegaLuis Ricardo Navarro DíazWilly José Blanco Cuello

The academic development of the University has allowed the number of graduates of the different master's degrees in practice to have increased steadily in different Faculties, therefore, organizing postgraduate academic training is one of the academic activities that requires a greater attention because its growth and the need to achieve greater efficiency in graduates requires the application of a quality standard that makes it easier to measure scientific and academic production and contributions to postgraduate programs. Despite the fact that the University has a program and an office for graduates to implement this activity, its main function, however, consisted of monitoring graduates of undergraduate programs, in other words, the follow-up carried out on graduates. of the master's degree since the creation of the program was little to date, only three meetings of graduates have been held.
Roberto Enrique Figueroa MolinaMirna Patricia Bernal MartínezLuisa Fernanda Gutiérrez Cadena

Project management is considered a process of great value for the economic sciences, since it facilitates a course of action against issues of great relevance and interest such as: investment of resources, generation of timely solutions and establishment of medium-term strategic plans. long term. Thus, having clear and specific guidelines, in relation to the components that give life to this type of initiative, will make it easier for students who are trained in these areas to have a specific and professional orientation that allows them to offer their professional context the better alternatives. Business development is characterized by a dynamic that faces aspects such as uncertainty, volatility, transformation and, in recent times, unpredictable events such as epidemics, dizzying economic variations and mobility restrictions (confinement) to guarantee people's lives in situations of extreme affectation , make the demands even greater. The aforementioned, then, demands that every organization can adjust its corporate objectives in a corresponding way to the requirements of each moment, and for this project management and each of its components offers adequate and replicable guidelines.
Hugo Gaspar Hernández PalmaAngélica María Jiménez CoronadoSilvana María Botero Quintero

2021-11-222021-11-22Gentrification processes community resistance based on citizen participation. Case study Barrio Abajo, Barranquilla. Colombia
https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/159

The term gentrification has been used interchangeably in various languages ??such as English, French, German, Portuguese and of course in Spanish. In the latter language, the term assumes a leading role worthy of being analyzed in depth from the academic sector, due to the importance of its different views and theoretical conceptions.

Gentrification processes in their various categories and notable contextual diversity (urban, communicational, social, economic, among others) have also been studied in recent years, due to the great impacts and displacements that different social classes experience. Some theorists such as Neil Smith, Lees, Maloutas, García Herera, Catherine Bidou-Zahariansen, among others, analyze the processes of «gentrification» in the urban context and, on the policies that accompany these processes in large cities.

This text addresses all these issues, and because of this it is proposed as a conceptual tool for mandatory consultation. The work is aimed at the analysis of the processes of gentrification and community resistance and, in a particular way, observes the component of citizen participation. The book you are holding in your hands seeks to advance the understanding of the phenomenon of gentrification and its intervention, through an approach based on urban law as the backbone of gentrification processes.

The document is organized into five chapters: the first addresses the theoretical and conceptual aspects of gentrification, urban planning and land use planning, identifying the fundamental elements of urban law, culture, community resistance and citizen participation and their implications in the processes gentrification. The second chapter focuses on analyzing urban law in the district of Barranquilla. The research goes from the macro to the micro, evaluating the legal antecedents of urban planning law in Colombia and of land use planning in the city of Barranquilla, to continue reducing the scale in the analysis of gentrification processes in a residential sector called Barrio Abajo. In this particular case, the cultural aspect and its connection with the legal framework, the urban landscape, the residential vocation of its inhabitants and the urban requalification processes are analyzed, under the eye of citizen participation and improvement strategies in the policitas public in a vulnerable sector.
Roberto Lastra MierHenry Villafañe BullosoJaider Enrique Jiménez González

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/198

Health systems are the complex and preponderant structure for maintaining the well-being of associates, therefore, analyzing them from the socio-political dimensions implies elements and factors of an institutional, cultural, geographic, environmental, pathological, predictable and adaptable order, thus making it necessary for public health to address their dimensions, phenotypes and genotypes of elaboration, application and functional and structural regulation. Now then, from the following theoretical and conceptual point of view, it is correct to express that health as a measure of well-being is directly related to the new State need to generate optimal guarantees for the preservation of human dignity, since, as it is a fundamental axis for the development of the individual and his environment, it is also a fundamental axis for the development of the State. Therefore, the contemporary conception of health is linked to the search for human dignity and social development, which merits socio-political and sanitary studies of social actors.
Jorge Luis Restrepo PimientaEsperanza Florez Fernandez

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/162

This work is the final result of the investigation entitled "Incidence of globalization in transnational crimes", whose essential purpose was the analysis of the incidence of said phenomenon in transnational organized crime, through the analysis of five crimes, namely, trafficking in people, organs, drugs, money and weapons. Transnational crime represents a challenge for human rights, criminology and victimology, considering that they require strengthening a framework of action in favor of victims, which is more comprehensive and of course to give an effective response to them in criminal justice. ; in such a way that this study shows how several countries and of course Colombia present transnational criminal problems in common, and dogmatically and procedurally address these problems with common actions and instruments in each of the penal systems of said countries. Analyzing five of the eighteen transnational crimes led to establishing that globalization as a global phenomenon facilitates transnational organized crime. Aspect or finding that was interesting to address considering that the trafficking of drugs, weapons, organs, people and money laundering, as transnational crimes, are a threat to the security of states due to their global reach. Concluding in the work that these criminal behaviors not only corrupt and cross borders, the social, political and economic bases of nations, but that these are an unwanted consequence, much less sought after by globalization, but it facilitates its commission.
Cristina Montalvo VelásquezAlait Freja CalaoBeatriz Bolaño García

This text, The Reharmonization with Melodies of the Colombian Caribbean, is the product of a research work whose main objective was to unravel the personal constructs and networks of meanings of 19 co-investigator participants, fourth-semester students of integrated theory and harmony of the Program of Degree in Music from the Faculty of Fine Arts - Universidad del Atlántico, regarding the effectiveness and relevance of the design of a didactic proposal for learning musical reharmonization with Colombian Caribbean melodies.

The idea of the study stems from the daily work of the research teachers, which led them to ask themselves questions about the generation of strategies that would allow them to face a need identified from praxis, to include in the curricular plan the option of the study of reharmonization, knowledge that can contribute to significant learning and better professional performance of graduates, both in the academic and artistic context.

There is a rich source of texts, in English, for the study of reharmonization; however, the academic production in Spanish in this area of knowledge is limited. In this text, knowledge is sought from a new dynamic of knowing, from a re-encounter and re-appropriation of one's own knowledge. The application of musical techniques and theories extrapolated from other cultural contexts to Colombian Caribbean melodies will inevitably produce new sound results. This text consists of an organization of tonal resources useful to students, teachers and professional musicians.
Alonso Rodríguez PernettSantos Vizcaíno Visbal

This research text that I have the great pleasure of presenting aims to motivate those researchers or engineers responsible in the area of ??statistical process control, to apply new concepts of quality indicators from a multivariate perspective. These new proposals for capacity indicators, in the statistical control of processes, will allow a more assertive analysis of the behavior of the processes; in this way, detect the signals or factors involved in the increase in variability; This is done with simple formulations that allow readers without specific knowledge of the subject to understand without major difficulties. This research has been carried out with financial contributions from the Faculty of Engineering specifically the Specialization in Quality Management of the Universidad del Atlántico.
Roberto José Herrera

These artists were directly related to the academy from where they exerted notable influence and were considered the engine of modernity in Colombia, as is the specific case of Alejandro Obregón, who was director of the School of Fine Arts in the 1960s and developed a strong sense belonging to the Caribbean, appropriating elements of the local geography, representing them with an admirable symbolic level. Proof of this is the work Toro Condor, one of the most important pieces in our collection.
Danny González Cueto

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/127

In the context of knowledge management, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a key role, as they enable the constant flow of information in a collaborative and dynamic learning environment. However, ensuring that members of the organization make appropriate use of technological resources for continuous improvement and knowledge building represents a major challenge for management. In this order of ideas, this book faces the task of analyzing and understanding how ICTs support knowledge management in institutions. To achieve this purpose, a quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope is employed, applying a 26-item questionnaire to 135 officials of territorial comptrollers located in the department of Atlántico. The study is based on three main dimensions: 1) e-learning as a means for individuals to solve everyday situations; 2) the support of ICT infrastructure and 3) internal control systems. The results indicate that in 46.2% of the cases, training problems are solved through virtual learning; in addition, 64.2% state that ICT are tools for transmitting knowledge; likewise, there is unanimity in considering that technological tools facilitate information management. With regard to internal control, 86.8% agreed that this element allows processes to be significantly improved. It is concluded that, in the technological component, numerous factors and resources associated with activities, processes, networks, among others, come together. On the other hand, it was confirmed that in the evaluated comptrollers there is a high degree of management of information and technology as key instruments that together with the internal control systems strengthen development and productivity.
Wendell G Archibold Barrios

At present, diversity and respect for the individualities and particularities of the human being is an issue that continues to gain relevance in all fields of life; In teaching, for example, one of the topics that has been extensively investigated is precisely the fact of responding to the needs of each student without resorting to segregation or sectorization of learning. It is widely known that each person has a preferential learning style, which entails using different strategies to tackle a task or activity, and it is essentially this aspect that leads to making differences in the learning process. That is why teachers must know the theory of learning styles in order to adapt their pedagogical practices to these particularities in the classroom and improve the quality of the educational process in every way.
Mónica Rolong GamboaNeira Loaiza VillalbaMaría Otilia CancinoLiseth Villar GuerraCarolina Hernandez ValbuenaDiana Margarita Abello CamachoMartha García Chamorro Adel Farouk Vargas María I.
At present, science and technology have become fundamental tools to explain the different events that occur in nature and their possible causes. Today man uses them in order to predict the future and actively control it. Since I. Newton and G. Leibniz introduced the differential calculus in 1682, differential equations have become a fundamental tool for mathematicians, physicists, engineers and other technicians and scientists, since the physical laws that govern the phenomena of nature they are usually reflected in them. Thus, they constitute a quantitative expression of these laws: a clear example is the laws of conservation of mass and thermal energy, which are expressed in the form of differential equations.
Jorge Luis Rodríguez ConterasAlberto Mario Reyes LinerosPrimitivo B Acosta-HumánezAngélica Arroyo CabreraMaría Campo DonadoOsmín Ferrer VillarIsmael Cohen PuertasJuliana P.
This research addresses the problem of sanitary conditions that affect the safety of coastal meats and cheese that are produced, distributed and commercialized in the department of Atlántico. The population under study was made up of coastal cheese and meat merchants who enter the department of Atlántico through Barranquilla, Puerto de Sabanagrande, Puerto de Ponedera, Puerto de Bohórquez, El Fogón, El Peligro, Puerto de Suán, via Cordialidad ( Sabanalarga), Luruaco, Puerto Colombia toll and another entry site (Soledad). In the methodological process, the allocation of the information collection routes is carried out, based on the information obtained from the marketers of the coastal meats and cheese in the main ports of the Atlantic department, the merchants surveyed the randomly selected personnel, subject to the number of units obtained in the sampling process. In the analysis of the information used the multivariate statistical methods, the ACM multiple correspondence analysis. In general terms, the results indicated that the vast majority of the coastal meat and cheese stalls do not meet the minimum hygienic-sanitary requirements, do not have infrastructure, do not have equipment for the conservation of these foods that require conditions special refrigeration and / or freezing. Training in good manufacturing practices is necessary for all people involved in food handling, so that they can guarantee the safety and quality of food to protect the health and well-being of the Atlantic population.
Genisberto Enrique Barreto RodríguezRoberto José Herrera AcostaNuris Guillermina Morales Pinto

For this reason, it is important to highlight that the complexity of these organizations is made up of the trends that involve skills and competencies of the personnel working in companies. Therefore, the need has been generated to give way to new ideas, as well as different ways of observing and promoting the development of the employee as a proactive agent, with the need to promote their skills and abilities, both personal and managerial.
This book presents the creation of an automated battery box feeding machine for the Hotmelt glue injector unit at Baterías Willard S.A., with the purpose of speeding up the traffic of batteries fed to the plate gluing and assembly section. The preliminary design was based on ergonomic principles aiming at a comfortable proposal for the machine operators. For this purpose, the data corresponding to the 50th percentile of the Colombian population were considered. It was determined that a ½ HP motor connected to a worm gear system was sufficient to drive the battery lifting mechanism. Subsequently, a CAD model in SolidWorks generated the manufacturing drawings of the machine, after verification of structural and clamping components with a finite element analysis.
Honey is a concentrated solution of sugars with a predominance glucose and fructose, it contains enzymes, amino acids, organic acids, minerals, aromatic substances, pigments, wax and pollen grains (Codex Alimentarius Commission, 1999). The maintenance of the original composition of this precious food depends on many factors, call these: storage, harvesting, time, etc., (Ruiz, Quan, Salas, Lanza, & Crespo, 2001). Numerous medicinal properties have been attributed to this food that have been proven by different scientific works (Sato & Miyata, 2000; Molan, 2001), some of which honey stands out for its energy power, against anemia, laxative, antiseptic, etc. (Humbel, 2004).
Rafael Enrique Olivero VerbelKeila Vanessa Villa-EngmJavier Joel Mendoza Mendoza BlancoAlexys Flórez VergaraSigifredo José CerveraIvan Mercado MartínezYelitza Aguas Mendoza

Human beings when communicating, try to persuade or convince their interlocutor through language and achieve the goals set with the act of communication. To do this, they often use various linguistic-semiotic mechanisms or strategies, among which is the attenuation whose purpose is to mitigate, or in the words of Briz (2003-2007: 2): “soften the message, remove relief or hide the true intention ”, that is, avoiding offending the interlocutor without losing sight of the object of the communicative act.
Yasmín Divina Torres Fontalvo

This book is the product of an investigation carried out in the undergraduate programs of a university in the Colombian Caribbean, whose objectives were to evaluate the reading comprehension of students entering undergraduate programs and describe, interpret and understand reading and writing practices that are carried out in those degrees. The study in general takes as its theoretical foundation the concept of reading, reading comprehension, comprehension levels and academic literacy (Johns, 1997; Gee, 1999; Clark & ??Ivanic, 1997; Carlino, 2005; Lea & Street, 1998; Cassany and Morales , 2008; Parodi, 2010; Teberoski, 2007). The frame of reference towards the approach to teaching and learning of reading and writing academic texts was based on contemporary linguistics and psychosociolinguistics by Parodi (2010); and Pozo et al., (2006); and, from evolutionary psychology and the education of
reading and writing by Teberoski (2007).
Luis Manuel Cárdenas CárdenasMartha Luz Ortiz PadillaLuis Carlos Cárdenas Ortiz

Teacher education is a field of research and reflection to estimate the quality and impact of teaching and learning experiences in higher education. In this sense, knowledge, as well as the actions of teachers and their observable effects, such as planning, decision-making, and thought processes, among others, inform both teaching research and educational policy (Clark and Peterson, 1986; Fenstermacher, 1994; Darling-Hammond, 2016). For their part, teachers in training have beliefs, perceptions and expectations regarding the teaching methods they receive, this affects the interactions with their peers and teachers in the classrooms, which is why they have been the object of inquiry.
Roberto Enrique Figueroa MolinaMirna Patricia Bernal MartínezCarlos Alberto Salazar Díaz

Inside the Institutions of Higher Education, university welfare programs are developed whose purpose is to offer better training possibilities to future professionals who are preparing in them, trying to achieve the desired comprehensive training, which basically seeks to educate in the aspects: intellectual , ethical and physical. It is in the physical component that university sports programs mainly point, without ignoring other intellectual, psychological and moral aspects of the individual.
Samuel Villamarin MenzaBenjamín Betancourt Guerrero

Antioxidant activity is the property of a substance to inhibit oxidative degradation and acts mainly through its ability to react with free radicals and singlet oxygen. The imbalance that occurs in the body between the production of reactive oxygen species and the ability of a biological system to rapidly inhibit them is known as oxidative stress. This process results in alterations in the structure-function relationship in any organ. In living organisms there are antioxidant molecules capable of delaying or preventing oxidation; However, this process is not always efficient, so it is necessary to provide the body with other antioxidant molecules that help combat oxidative stress.
Carlos Enrique Díaz UribeJorge Enrique Trilleras VásquezWilliam Andrés Vallejo Lozada

However, in the country the history of the training of graduates is related to political and educational projects that seek to reaffirm knowledge with social function. Improving education means that teachers are the best. Through Resolution 02041 of the MEN., The specific quality characteristics of the degree programs were established for obtaining and renewing a qualified registration. But teacher training is not only in the public sector, but also in the private sector. Currently, the reform helps undergraduate degrees to strengthen programs and their practice with 40 credits, becoming the main tool to teach, train and evaluate.
Janeth del Carmen Tovar GuerraMarleyn Margarita Serrano RamírezLucia Magnolia Vélez García

Between 1998 and 2010 the Universidad del Atlántico experienced the longest violence in its history. During these years, more than twenty members of the university community were assassinated. The men and women whose lives were blinded worked as teachers and administrators; others were students trying to finish their careers. Her membership in political, student and union organizations were one of the most visible characteristics. As a consequence of these violent dynamics, dozens of them had to leave the city and the country. With this, social, student and union organizations, as well as the mobilization of citizen and academic forces were reduced. Some student movements disintegrated completely, while others reduced their presence on the public scene and retreated - sometimes silently as a survival strategy.
Muriel Jiménez OrtegaEdwin Corena PuentesChristian Maldonado Badrán

Environmentalization, or greening, is the action of permeating the natural environment and environmental problems into all legislation and all legal relationships, integrating the values ??of respect, responsibility and solidarity with ecosystems. "Not only for the use and enjoyment of the human being, but for them in themselves, as alterities, and to the cultures in their differences and diverse ways of being" 1. This concept arises from understanding that the existence of environmental legislation and Environmental Law is no longer sufficient to regulate the totality of human relations with their environment. In other words, the environmental movement of humanity, which in turn is born from the increase in concern about what is happening with its environment, demands from the entire institution of Law a different response to prevent and resolve its conflicts. First, by being more demanding, by converting Soft Law standards into Hard Law standards, and then by increasing the very scope of the normative function.
Roberto Enrique Lastra MierJayler David Vergara BrocheroIvel Vanessa Torregrosa

Regarding engineering materials, iron-based alloys are the most used in applications that involve abrasive wear conditions, (for example: type D tool steels, austenitic manganese steels and cast iron alloyed to high chromium). Regarding non-ferrous alloys, copper-based alloys stand out (for example, [Cu-Zn] brass, [Cu-Sn] bronze and Cu-Be alloys). However, in the case of brasses and bronzes, their application is limited due to their microstructure because they tend to present a single-phase behavior, likewise, their mechanical resistance will depend on the grain size and the degree of solubility of the alloying elements. . On the other hand, copper-beryllium alloys present a more complex thermodynamic behavior, which would allow obtaining eutectoid microstructures similar to that of steels. Additionally, this type of alloys would allow the application of heat aging treatments, favoring the precipitation phenomena of second-phase compounds and increasing their mechanical resistance.
Óscar Fabián Higuera CobosIsabel Cristina Niño CamachoHugo Alexander González RomeroSamir Alfonso Hurtado FerrerLuis Francisco Orozco Lobo

2020-06-012020-06-01Reading comprehension in the social science context
https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/100

The topic of reading comprehension will always be relevant at any school level. Consequently, trying to enter into its processes, study them, analyze them and propose new ways of approaching the problems caused by not understanding a text will always be welcome, even more so if the difficulties are framed in the context of early education. . The research carried out by Luis Manuel Cárdenas Cárdenas, Wilmar Salazar Obeso and Luis Carlos Cárdenas Ortiz, addresses the issue in question and presents it in the book that the reader has in his hands, based on the study of reading comprehension in the context of the Social Sciences. The results they reached are congruent with the initially thought claims of inquiring into the factors that help or hinder the development of reading skills. At this point, it is important to point out that the underlying interest of the researchers not only stems from the influence of the imperatives —in educational matters— of current Colombian society and the national and international community, but also in the reality in which finds the chosen institution in the face of reading comprehension difficulties that it has been going through. The reference to the school (and its sixth-grade students) that is the object of the research can, without any risk, be extrapolated to other school institutions of its kind, and even to higher education, since the problems are shared and are the same, in the sense that at all levels of training reading comprehension offers difficulties, fortunately that can be overcome, as can be seen in the development of this study. The authors provide lights that other researchers can use to illuminate the shadows of the subject in question, starting from a central purpose in their study: to characterize the levels of reading comprehension reached by sixth grade students, based on reading comprehension strategies. , the textbook and the reading materials used by the Social Sciences teacher.
Luis Manuel Cárdenas CárdenasWilmar Salazar ObesoLuis Carlos Cárdenas Ortiz

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/102

Atmospheric corrosion is a phenomenon of electrochemical origin that results from the interaction of a material with the surrounding environment, which causes its deterioration and translates into additional costs for industrial activity. However, despite its influence, no research has been conducted to predict the effects of the corrosive phenomenon at the local level. For this reason, the present work studied the aggressiveness of atmospheric corrosion in Barranquilla and its metropolitan area through a field investigation for four months with different commercial steels —ATM A36, ASTM A572, AISI A304, ASTM A36 galvanized and ASTM A572 galvanized— in four geographic zones distributed in the city. Our purpose was to calculate the loss of mass due to corrosive effects in these locations, taking into account characteristics such as proximity to the sea or pollutants present in the air. For this, an experimental measurement program was developed based on a multilevel factorial design, in which the loss of mass associated with atmospheric corrosion was evaluated as an output variable and as factors that could affect it, the exposure time, the geographical area and the the material. The results obtained were subjected to an analysis of variance with the help of the STATGRAPHICS® package to determine the factors that exert a significant influence on this phenomenon. The data obtained as a product of the experimental design indicated that atmospheric corrosion is a time and material dependent process. Consequently, they can be fitted to a statistical expression that takes into account the contribution of these factors by using regression methods.
Cristian Antonio Pedraza YepesOscar Fabián Higuera CobosMónica Johanna Monsalve AriasJosé Luis Cano GómezHebert Alejandro Gutiérrez Peña

This book is intended to be a tribute to the memory of Carlos Franco, the same one who founded the Escuela de la Danza Folclórica de Barranquilla. Those who knew him knew that he was not only the director, he was also a musician, dancer, choreographer, he designed the dresses, made the props, and went out to get the money for the crystallization of his dreams; all are reasons enough to consider him more than a master and see him as truly passionate about his art. He always said that the most significant thing in his life was having celebrated his birthday, without having planned it, next to the writer Gabriel García Márquez, on the same date that the writer received the Nobel Prize (December 10, 1982). By then, Carlos was 28 years old and his passion for dance continued to grow, so he was able to cross other borders, and thus bring the most select of the Caribbean culture around the world. His life marked other lives, because he knew how to plant the seed of his passion for dance in the fertile soil of many of his students, who remember him today with pride and gratitude for his teachings. Mónica Lindo De las Salas, one of his students, has thought that this book is not a simple exegetical document, but also illustrates many of its other facets, some unknown. In order to show, first-hand, how Carlos was a visionary of dance and, without any exaggeration, ahead of his time.
Mónica Lindo de las Salas

The methodology used to carry out this research was qualitative, with a design that, from the participation action research (PAR), combines two processes: that of knowing and that of acting, involving, in both, the population whose is actually addressed. To collect the information, discussion groups, interviews and observations were carried out with a group of young students and a teacher in a rural school in the Colombian Caribbean. Finally, we conclude with the characteristics to be considered in a proposal to make mathematics contextualized to the rural environment, which is specified in a validated product in a rural educational space for learning mathematics in a 5th grade of primary school, showing a high degree of acceptance and use of the product in educational spaces enriched with EEF and entrepreneurship.
Sonia Valbuena DuarteElisabeth Domínguez DomínguezJesús David Berrío Valbuena

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/109

According to neoclassical theorists, greater investment in human capital generates benefits for the individual and society, as well as improvements in education and experience, increasing their labor productivity. In this research project we want to answer the question: What is the relevance of higher education to the formal labor market in Colombia? The objective of this study is to analyze the relevance of higher education to the formal labor market from the dimension of the labor market, the graduate, the employer and the university. The objective is framed in the positivist epistemological paradigm, and under the type of quantitative methodology, the information of the graduates of higher education in the labor market is processed. In addition, the relevance of higher education to the labor market is analyzed within the framework of the neoclassical theory of human capital. Among the main results it was found that there are imbalances between the university supply and the formal labor demand of graduates, which affect the salaries and absorption rates of the graduate labor market. Finally, the relevance of education in the labor market, from the graduate dimension, is shown by the variable job occupation, wages, labor and general skills. In the same way, for employers of professionals, the relevance is evidenced by the size of the company, the number of professionals they have in their company, the sector in which the company is located, the performance of the professionals, the labor competencies and general graduates.
Elcira Solano Benavides

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/110

During the post-harvest of fruits and vegetables, losses can be up to 60% of the total production. There are several treatments to reduce this phenomenon, such as storage at low temperatures, the application of thermal treatments and irradiation, the use of chemical fungicides, among others. This research is aimed at the use of coatings based on natural compounds to prolong the shelf life and maintain the quality of the medlar, evaluating the effect of the edible coating on the ripening process of this fruit. Coatings suspensions were made from oxidized cassava starch, a plasticizer (glycerol), a lipid compound (carnauba wax) and an emulsifier (Tween 80). The concentration of starch and the storage temperature were the most influential factors in the conservation of the medlar. Coatings made with high concentrations (4%) of oxidized starch reduce the maturation effect of medlars, which was determined by the values ??of SST, pH, acidity and maturity index. However, treatments T3, T5 and T6, which were stored at room temperature, after day 8 began to leach due to the weakening of the coating and contamination by flying pests. T2, which contained 4% oxidized starch, 0.5% carnauba wax and a refrigerated storage system, was the treatment that obtained the lowest values ??in all the evaluated properties (SST, pH, acidity and maturity index), with respect to the other treatments.
Rafael Enrique Olivero VerbelDubán Felipe Miranda HernándezAlexy Flórez Vergara

This book has tried to concretize the ideas, concerns, theories, efforts and wishes of the researcher throughout his experience in the football sports field. This, hand in hand with the learning acquired during his formative work as a doctor in Educational Sciences, accompanied by his professional practice as part of the soccer union of the Colombian Caribbean region. The researcher, likewise, verified in his own experience the needs for didactic evolution, and integral human development, that the soccer players trainers of the sports training clubs congregated in the Club Real Caribe have (Annex 1). The university professional development from the Physical Culture, Recreation and Sports program, allowed to recognize the importance of creating a viable alternative to consolidate humanistic and pedagogical aspects in the training of soccer players in the Colombian Caribbean region, in order to overcome the spontaneous practice of this sport with a significant contribution made up of the human, social, technical, sporting and pedagogical aspects.

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/114

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/115

In this research work on clarifiers you will be able to find updated information on the innovation in water clarification processes; This innovation seeks to make these more economical, efficient and friendly to the environment. Clarification is one of the most important stages, since it allows the removal of suspended materials such as clay, silt and sludge. According to the WHO (2016), there is an accelerated growth of the population and of industrial and agricultural activity; this, together with impending climate change, makes water a vulnerable resource. The importance of this work lies in the possibility that these treatments reach regions where surface waters are very turbid, as they contain many sediments and a high microbial load, which can be significantly reduced with the use of alternative clarifiers such as Opuntia ficus in combination with Moringa oleifera.
Rafael Enrique Olivero VerbelLuis Miguel Vega FelizzolaGlenda Paola Villegas de AGua

The human species, unlike others, has the ability to speak and construct signs with their own meaning that allow communication between their peers. Those linguistic signs that, according to Ferdinand de Saussure (1945), are eminently psychic in nature, unite not an object and its name, but a concept and an acoustic image. The concept is not the thing itself, but its abstraction; and the acoustic image is not the material sound, but its psychic imprint. These two facets of the linguistic sign are unmotivated, so there is no natural relationship between the signifier and the signified. The nature of the linguistic sign is arbitrary. Oral or written words, linguistic signs, are not natural but conventional; They are not the same for all cultures, since different languages ??are spoken, and if there is no social convention that establishes a link between sound and thought, it would be meaningless.
Oswaldo Dede MejíaMiguel Antonio Caro CandezanoCarlos Araújo Martínez

At the international level, gender violence and in particular, violence against women has been part of some sectors of society and has been included in the agendas of public and private entities. In this way, different conventions, resolutions and protocols have been formulated focused on their intervention. One of them is the Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women CEDAW (1979), which, among many others, deals with the design of equality policies with special and temporary measures to achieve equality between women and men. Likewise, in 1994 the “Belém do Pará” convention was created, which applies to all manifestations of physical, sexual or psychological violence based on gender. In the Political Constitution of Colombia of 1991, in article 43 it is enshrined: “Women and men have equal rights and opportunities. Women may not be subjected to any kind of discrimination ”. Likewise, Law 311 of 1996 creates the National Registry of Family Protection and other provisions are issued. In this way, equality between men and women and families are assumed as the responsibility of the State and, therefore, mandatory for its intervention.
Ligia Esther Cantillo BarriosAna Acosta OrellanoClaudia Reyes BerdugoErlinda Imitola JalkhIngris Pineda Villa Luz Mary Miranda SuárezMarta Gutiérrez ÁlvarezMarta Potes Meza Martha Luz Seba García Merlis Cantillo CaicedoMónicaPatricia Laskar SanjuánRosiris Venecia Caballero Rubí Sánchez Blanco Silvia Marín CabarcasZoraida Valencia LlanosEnrique Estrada LaraJosé Reyes CamargoLisandro Fontalvo Molinares Cira Cuadro SarmientoAna Mullet DonadoCarmen Muñoz ArévaloCarmiña Redondo RodríguezCecilia De Alba NarváezJessenia Torres PantojaDalis Ruiz MejíaNoredis Bolívar Ortega

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/119

Teacher training and intercultural education in the Colombian Caribbean is the work of Dr. Celmira Castro Suárez, who focuses on intercultural education in teacher training and whose claim is based, from a complex and committed intercultural perspective, on contributing elements for teacher professional development from a critical intercultural approach, thus responding to one of the substantive characteristics of 21st century societies: interculturality or cultural diversity (Kymlicka, 1999; Kymlicka and Norman, 2000). The Colombian Caribbean society is increasingly multicultural, in it subjects and cultural communities with different symbolic universes coexist. In this scenario, it is essential to establish commitments between research and pedagogical practices, to achieve goals related to the common good, quality of life, equal opportunities, equity, inclusion and social justice. All with the legitimacy of committing research to the recognition of knowledge (de Sousa, 2017), and the defense of ethical, social, democratic and human rights values. Indeed, the work presented here manages to show the social dimension of research, which thus contributes to the development of sustainable societies and the return of knowledge to Colombian society, particularly to the Caribbean.
Celmira Castro Suárez

The discourse of human rights and citizenship has become an important component in developing democracies, as it legitimizes social, economic and political rights based on public reforms that benefit all social groups. For this reason, when speaking of human rights in times of social, political, economic crisis and peace processes, the need for humanist discourses to have in their theoretical support the elements of social practice is evident, understanding these as the inclusion of all social groups in different contexts. In this scenario of problems related to the real possibilities of human rights, we find the group of women with their differences. They all have domination contexts in common, some subtle and some very marked, defined from personal, group and community histories. Is there any logical structure that justifies it? From a cultural perspective, there are no contrary historical evidences, rather these are verified and validated as actions aimed at legitimizing the social and cultural order.
Darling Ayala Freites

Many do not consider the relationship between counseling and theology; rather they think of the binomial counseling and psychology. This book is about the first pair of relationships, as it considers that theology speaks of counseling (Lambert, 2016, ch. 1, para. 3) and counseling is based on theology. Therefore, here we present the results of a theological research on counseling through the hermeneutical study of the Bible, focused on its language and content.
Yolanda Rodríguez CadenaGabriel Ferrer Ruiz

Policies in the university sector vary, both in their form and in their content, depending on governmental changes and relations with the environment. One of the aspects that marks this episode is the academic cooperation that affects the leverage of the internationalization of higher education. As Corti et al (2015) points out, “the internationalization of higher education encompasses a multitude of strategies, including: academic mobility for students and teachers; creation of international networks, associations and projects; new academic programs and research initiatives ”(p.47). The aforementioned authors assure that although this international dimension was part of the universities from its origins, as academic and scientific mobility and exchange, it was from the second half of the 20th century when it acquired different characteristics (Corti et al., 2015 , p.48).
Alma Lorena Rodero AcostaWillian NieblesHugo Hernández

It is a reality that the calculation can be considered one of the greatest conquests of humanity. It is possible to express the laws of nature and of various chemical, industrial and economic processes from functions, and use tools such as limits and derivatives to describe their behavior, for that reason this discipline appears in the study plans of all careers scientific and technical, and their learning constitutes a transcendental stage to enter more advanced fields of mathematics. This book contains the topics of a first course in differential calculus, contemplating the contents that should constitute a basic course in calculus of functions of a variable. It shows novelty in terms of the meticulous presentation of concepts and definitions, the use of alternative methods for solving mathematical approaches, the detailed development of examples that allow greater appropriation of the concepts in the student, and the large number of proposed exercises, from those that only require the application of procedures explained in the text, to those whose non-mechanical or non-trivial solutions allow the student to develop mathematical skills
admin admin

In favor of the latter, it precisely mentions that appropriate policies should be adopted in the short, medium and long term. And it is that some of the main factors to consider according to the OEI (2012), making a brief and superficial comparison that shows the current state of S&T in Ibero-American countries with respect to other developed countries, initially reveals three aspects main factors to consider for a conscious and future plan for progress: first, investment in Research
Luisa Fernanda Gutiérrez CadenaDimitri José Martínez Movilla

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), or global study on entrepreneurial activity in countries, is recognized worldwide as the largest and most robust empirical study in terms of longitudinal analysis of business creation processes. It began in 1997, by researchers from Babson College and the London Business School. In the first, 10 countries participated (Denmark, Finland, Israel, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States). Each year, this research project has been repeated without interruption, varying the participation of the countries. Recently, for 2017 it had the participation of 54 countries.
This book is a journey! It begins in the streets of Cali, continues along the highway that leads from Cali to Buenaventura and ends at the Pacific Sea. The author narrates with clarity and simplicity the field work he did with various cultural groups and the role that mathematics plays in their daily and social tasks. When using the term mathematics of social order, he draws our attention to the strong invisible, familiar and inseparable relationships that are woven between the mathematical knowledge of a cultural group and the social problems they experience: unemployment, injustice, social tensions. It teaches us some dynamic, spontaneous ethnomathematics, which emerge from the very need of work, and which ultimately become an indispensable tool for survival.
Armando Aroca Araújo

Alberto Carbonell Jimeno is synonymous with choral music, that is why when speaking of choirs in Colombia we must unfailingly mention the maestro from Barranquilla, who with his arduous and disinterested work has transmitted for several generations to his students, disciples and choral directors in general, the passion , the respect and discipline that choral music requires. His production encompasses more than eighty arrangements with an emphasis on popular works from the Colombian Caribbean region, in addition to about a hundred other between boleros and other Latin American rhythms.
Laura Saldarriaga Cupidan

Teacher evaluation generates new roles, competencies and performances in teachers, promotes new demands and challenges, making visible the need to structure reflective thinking about practices and creating responsibility in student learning. For this reason, teachers become more and more involved in the need to evaluate all the processes in the school, and therefore they become aware of the evaluation of their competencies, their performances, the procedures and scope for the improvement of the quality of education and of teaching itself. This text updates knowing what is happening, doing meta-evaluation of teaching; as well as the real contributions that the evaluations generate in the personal and institutional sphere, considering the responsibilities and consequences of the process in professional practice and highlighting the main achievements and tensions that arise.
Esnares Maussa DiazMaría Edith Palomino Solera

Despite the need to identify in our teachers the dynamics and actions that they develop in their usual activity, there is little evidence on research related to didactic models that national or foreign scholars have developed and are able to characterize the culture and idiosyncrasy of teachers university students from the Colombian Caribbean region in the teaching of Natural Sciences.
Roberto Figueroa MolinaMirna Bernal MartínezCarlos Alberto Salazar Díaz

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/63

The poetry of José Ramón Mercado Romero (1937-) has traveled a long way from 1970, when he published his first book Not only poems, until 2016, when he edited his last, Vestiges del castaway. Before this, Bitter Bird, from 2013, broke down a beautiful and deep collection of accounts in a kind of Letter to the father. A little further back, Treaty of Solitude, from 2009, presented a kind of compendium in which all his poetic concerns intersect: poetry of place, space, family, but also a social concern - civic in some way, political in other-; in short, a meaning that entails a proposal that underlies, on the one hand, the memory of the past, embodied in a lyrical poetry, related to the memories of childhood and the environment of the landscape. And, on the other hand, as its background, an Adamic poetry, which gives names to things for the first time, as noted by the Nobel Prize for literature Derek Walcott with his own lyrics. But also a traumatic memory, where the experience of mourning for those killed by violence is not overcome and overwhelms the community, constituting a perception that rethinks morals, ethics and politics. This text extensively dialogues, due to its themes, with Vestigios del castaway (2016), his latest collection of poems
Adalberto Bolaño Sandoval

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/34

University dropout is a phenomenon inherent to most Higher Education Institutions (IES). The magnitude of this problem in universities is estimated by indicators that fluctuate over time; The fluctuations of these indicators are due to the educational policies of the HEIs and to personal, psychological, socioeconomic, sociological and family factors of the students. Dropout, due to its size, has become a very common phenomenon in most countries, which is why it has been raised as one of the priority problems in higher education. In this sense, the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) raises the need to carry out studies throughout the region, which shed light on the causal factors, costs, and the search for a solution to the problem.
Elcir Solano Benavides Solano BenavidesMario Barraza Niebles

The theory of equations in partial derivatives plays a very important role in contemporary Physics-Mathematics theory, since such equations naturally have application in various areas of science such as physics, chemistry, engineering, biology and other fields. The case of periodic baseline data is relatively new in the literature. The problem that we will deal with in your linear and non-linear case is of the wave type, that is, of the hyperbolic type. Also in the last chapter we worked on a parabolic equation and introduced techniques for this type of problem, which in our case will be a Burgers equation. These techniques are based on Banach's fixed point theorem, and similar to what is done in EDO, these techniques are strong enough to be called qualitative techniques in EDP, which motivates the title of our book.
Cristian Rojas Milla Alex Pico Amaya

As society and its culture have evolved, its influence has been greater on nature, by the very action of man. Today, with advances in technology, population growth, accelerated industrialization, among others, economic, political and socio-cultural imbalances have been generated, which has a detrimental impact on the environment and therefore on the welfare of the same society.
admin adminIngrid Isabel Gutiérrez EscobarArmando Lozano Zajar

All these changes constitute a challenge for the educational organizations in charge of professional training and their teaching practices, because they must respond to the needs for the development of skills of knowledge, know-how and being, thus enhancing the long-awaited comprehensive training. https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/15

We present some of the conclusions of an investigation on the social representation of ethnicity in the RCN news (Colombia). We fundamentally work on two theoretical categories to deepen the analysis: the performativity of the body by Antonin Artaud and the whiteness of Richard Dyer. We find the gears that lead to the construction of a corporality corseted to a series of devices that reproduce certain biopolitics of power. We conclude that whitening is multidirectional: it is not simply about sweetening the ethnic traits of Afro and indigenous people. There is a more pernicious whiteness regime, where subaltern groups are first whitewashed with a series of social imaginaries, and then they are made over-visible by blackening them.

The sociologist wanted to know if in Colombia, to organize the cities, the issue of olfactory discomfort is discussed, that is, if the experts are concerned about the complaints of citizens, who feel attacked by the effect of air pollution. The urban planner, for his part, was unaware of the interest of exercises on air pollution that do not aim at objective measurement: The urban planner: I have never heard of olfactory discomfort. The sociologist: [explained to him what it means] an olfactory disturbance is the repeated testimony of a personal aggression due to the effect of atmospheric pollution. The urban planner: (…) Ah! So you are trying to create metrics. The sociologist: No, we are sociologists and at the moment we only make a descriptive diagnosis. The urban planner: (…) Ah! But you are going to make indicators from now on. The sociologist: No [she answered more discouraged]. The urban planner: (…) Because I have known this issue only from the point of view of atmospheric pollution and air quality [the expert concluded].
Kelly EscobarFrançois MélardLeonardo José Romero OliveraCecilia PáezCarlos Bell Lemus María Isabel Montañez Parra José Francisco Márquez GuerraYilmar Urueta José Francisco Márquez Guerra Cristian Arrieta Leidy CorderoRubén GutiérrezEliezer Martínez Juan José PintoAna Serrano DonadoLuis Guzmán Acendra

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/91

Both at the level of mathematics and in the other areas of Basic Sciences and engineering, integral calculus plays a fundamental role, not only because of the variety of topics that its study contains, but also because of its applicability in solving various problems, such as the calculation of the area under a curve, the volume of a solid of revolution, the center of mass and gravity of an object, the moment of inertia and the arc length, among others. Starting from this perspective and the reality evidenced through experience, which teaches us that the use and application of integral calculus by university students is highly difficult, it is intended that they enhance their abilities to the approach, analysis, modeling and solution of problems present either in the framework of the study of the subjects of their study plan or in the context of applications such as research projects on topics of their specific knowledge and their future field of professional performance. To do this, this research product book has been designed, which makes available to the student –or researcher– a tool that initially allows them to appropriate the basic and fundamental concepts of integral calculus: antiderivative, definite integral, second fundamental theorem of calculus , area, volumes, etc. In this sense, the work - in addition to serving as a tool for students and / or researchers to appropriate specific content - will serve to stimulate the teaching-learning process of integral calculus, thereby seeking to contribute to the reduction of Failure and dropout rates for students in the Basic Sciences and Engineering programs of the Universidad del Atlántico.
Gabriel Mauricio Vergara RíosRichard Neil Sánchez TamaraAlberto Mario Reyes Linero

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/92

The present book Entrepreneurship intervention model. Regionalization is the product of a research process carried out in different high impact companies in the Colombian Caribbean region. The book highlights a whole process of investigation and study of the productive sector of companies and how they generate development in the young people of the Atlantic, projecting them as entrepreneurs and managers of micro-companies. For the above, the investigative component was used, using the descriptive type of research, with quantitative variables, validating the hypothesis, and the descriptive transectional design, aiming to investigate tools and techniques for the development of systemic entrepreneurship, which impact on a specific region. The results of the study yielded variables that made it possible for the investigating authors to create an intervention model that allows young people in the Caribbean region to project themselves as entrepreneurs and managers of micro-businesses.
Luis Carlos Cárdenas OrtizVíctor Manuel Cera SarmientoWilmer Rafael Barandica CepedaJonathan Adie Villafañe

This research text is a contribution in the area of ??Applied Statistics to sports professionals; there are few documents in the sports field that involve data analysis as an essential part that will allow a more assertive analysis of the behavior of activities; This is done with non-complex formulations that allow readers with basic knowledge of the subject, a simple understanding. The bibliography in this field is extremely extensive, but it is considered pertinent to write a book, specifically as an introductory course in Statistics in the sports area. This delimitation aims to facilitate the work of undergraduate and graduate students, dedicated to this particular area, exposing precisely the essential concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics. These conceptions are developed progressively throughout the text; Students in the sports area will find less difficulties in their training, deepening the most advanced statistical techniques.
Roberto José Herrera Acosta

https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/94

Language is the fundamental structure from which the experience of the world of life is possible, from it we build our individual and collective identity. In the encounter, in language, of different collective identities, given under certain conditions, what is called interculturality occurs. Consequently, the relationship between these concepts is not of a causal type or of temporal succession, but of co-belonging. That is, one contains the other. When speaking of co-belonging it is meant that, between language and culture there is a relationship such that each of these concepts always includes the other and is fully realized in them, without losing its own specificity.
Jairo Eduardo Soto MolinaJuan José Trillos Pacheco

2018-06-012018-06-01Optical oscillatory effects on conductivity terahertz of graphene
https://librosuniatlanticoeduco.biteca.online/index.php/catalog/catalog/book/129

In recent years, after it was possible to separate the graphene layer from a graphitic structure, a large number of works have been devoted to studying this system due to the non-peculiar properties found in this material [28, 29, 27, 6, 9 , 2, 19, 12, 10, 13, 11, 40, 39, 8, 18]. The characteristic structure of graphene, in which the valence and conduction bands meet at two non-equivalent points in the corner of the first Brillouin zone, as a consequence of its network in the form of a honeycomb, makes this material optically transparent as well as highly good conductor [26, 4] (see Figure 1.1). Therefore, low-energy excitations in graphene have a linear scattering spectrum similar to photons in electromagnetic radiation, which radically affects the transport properties in this system. In particular, the optical and electrical properties in graphene under the action of intense alternating fields have been the object of many investigations, finding that ac radiation surprisingly changes the energetic structure and, consequently, the density of states of this system [7, 25 ]. In this sense, a variety of phenomena have been predicted to be observed in graphene, such as the photovoltaic Hall effect [30], valley-polarized currents [33], etc ..
Ricardo Vega MonroyGuillermo Salazar Cohen

What can we learn from Michel Foucault today, more than 30 years after his death? This is a question that has been addressed in various ways in the reflections of the international colloquium held in Barranquilla in 2014 that we now preface. Here we will dedicate ourselves to showing the major and neighboring conducting threads found, the tensions and absences palpated, those to be raised.

In this book that compiles the interventions received and selected, in the versions sent and self-corrected by their authors, according to the feedback of the peer evaluators, we find mostly exegesis of the Foucauldian work, "applications" contextualized from the Foucauldian postulates, tasks to these times that go; all in an atmosphere that is named with the expression taken from the "joyful pessimism" with which "the diagnosis of the present" is approached.
Patrice VermerenLuz María Lozano SuárezMarie CuilleraiLuis Daniel Pico PáezMariela Cecilia ÁvilaFidelLucas Andrés Restrepo OrregoTuillang Yuing AlfaroSenda SfercoGina Jihoana Celia CórdobaRodolfo Wenger CalvoAlfonso Rodríguez ManzanoVíctor Florián BNumas Armando Gil Oliveira

Conceived with scientific rigor, this book presents the life and work of the distinguished teacher, professor and friend HANS FEDERICO NEUMAN DEL CASTILLO. By rescuing the invaluable artistic legacy of the composer from the shadows of the archives and the memory of his disciples, this work constitutes an important contribution to Colombian musical culture. In addition to being a musical researcher, the author is a virtuous Cuban pianist, who when interpreting the master's works felt so captivated by their beauty and romanticism that she decided to dedicate a good part of her Ph.D. work on Art to the rescue and transcription of his work. .
Yamira Rodríguez Núñez
